Hello humans! It’s now been nearly a year since we moved to our Westport location. The amount of support you’ve given our little shoppe has been tremendous and we’re pretty much at capacity in terms of production capabilities and space. Because of that, we’ve decided to move our printing equipment to a different location and expand retail to our entire Westport space!
This wasn’t a particularly easy decision, because we really love for you to be able to see the items in our store actually being made, so we want to maintain some sort of human interface with our production. For that reason, we decided the best place we could move our studio to would be the Crossroads. Thus, we’re set to take over the ground floor and basement at 1815 McGee, Kansas City, MO on August 1st 2015. It’s a very awesome and LARGE space in the East Crossroads, close to other fine, established businesses like Christopher Elbow Chocolates, Thou Mayest Coffee Roasters, Screenland Crossroads, and others recently and soon-to-be added! You can read more about those businesses here.
It’s important to note, this will not serve as a second retail location. Rather, it will primarily be used for our own production purposes, with occasional pop-up markets, First Friday events, and the like. We’ll be moving in August, but we expect our first First Friday to be in September. Our building owner has started making improvements to the building which include some interior work and a new roof, as well as a facelift for the storefront, which may not be quite finished by August’s First Friday. The building is pictured below, but by the time it’s completely done, it probably won’t look much like it does now.
That’s it for now. We’ll be sure to keep you updated via our Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter accounts!
